Shawn Carolan ("we," "us," or "our") operates the TextCards mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our app.

Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Text you enter when composing card messages

Information collected automatically:

• Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• Usage data (features used, interactions, session length)
• Log data (IP address, app crash reports, timestamps)

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate AI-assisted card messages via the Anthropic Claude API
• Provide, operate, and improve the TextCards app
• Diagnose technical issues and prevent abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

AI Features and Third-Party Services

TextCards uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate card message suggestions. When you use the AI Assist feature, the text you enter is sent to Anthropic's API to produce suggestions. Anthropic's use of that data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not store or log the content of your card messages on our servers.

iMessage and Sharing

Cards are shared directly via Apple's iMessage framework (MFMessageComposeViewController). TextCards does not transmit, store, or have access to the content of messages you send through iMessage. All card sending is handled entirely by Apple's Messages app.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Anthropic (for AI message generation, as described above)
• Service providers who help us operate the app (e.g. crash reporting, analytics)
• Law enforcement or legal process when required by law

Data Retention

TextCards does not maintain user accounts or store card content on our servers. Any card text processed via the AI feature is subject to Anthropic's data retention policies. To request deletion of any information we may hold, contact us at privacy@carolan.net.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Contact us at privacy@carolan.net to exercise these rights.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

TextCards is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@carolan.net and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
